SINGLE-PHASE RECTIFIER

A single-phase rectifier wherein: a full-wave rectifying circuit (3) is connected to a single ac power supply (1) through a reactor (2); a pair of smoothing capacitors (5) is connected in series between the output terminals of the circuit (3); a pair of diodes (4) connected in series is connected in parallel to the series capacitor circuit (5); the node of the paired diodes (4) is connected to the node of the paired smoothing capacitors (5); and an ac capacitor (6) is inserted between one of the input terminals of the circuit (3) and the node of the paired smoothing capacitors (5). As a result, the single-phase rectifier can be manufactured in a smaller size and at a reduced cost as a whole.
