A "polylid" for cooking vessels which consists of the body 1 which has multiple, parallel, shaped lips 4 so that it can be fitted on various vessels with corresponding dimensions, of a ventilation mechanism 2, of rubber rings 7 and of the handle 3. It is used as a single lid for vessels of different dimensions, both during cooking and during storage. It is also used during cooking a wide range of foods and cookery methods. The "polylid" is either circular in shape or has various shapes other than circular for fitting to circular vessels or vessels of various shapes other than circular, respectively. The ventilation mechanism provides holes 5 with an overall cross section greater than 0.70% of the cross section of the mouth of any vessel 6 to which the lid may be fitted. The ventilation mechanism is adjustable from zero ventilation to the maximum as described. |
