Excavator with chassis as support for driver position and drive units

The excavator has extending arms (7,11) linked to face sides of chassis. The arms are pivotable in horizontal and vertical planes by hydraulic piston-cylinder units (14). At their free ends, the arms support wheels (8,15). The wheels have the same diameter and are all motor-driven. The wheels (15) of at least one arm pair (11) are steerable. The arm carrying the steerable wheel is bent in its vertical longitudinal central plane and the upwardly bent section (19) supports the steerable wheel (15). The piston-cylinder unit for the vertical pivoting of the arm supporting a steerable wheel with its one end is supported above the horizontal pivot axis (13) of the arm (11). The other end is linked to the arm in the area of its underside.
