Drive system for a motor vehicle

The transmission equipment has a planetary gearing (1) which is changed automatically, in order to transmit and adapt a torque from a driving engine to the vehicle operating conditions. The gearing is used in combination with a friction clutch, as the sole clutch for starting off. The transmission of torque via the friction clutch may be regulated by automatic control equipment for the latter, which may be a dry friction clutch or a wet plate clutch (3). A friction clutch of the planetary gearing may also be used as the regulated clutch.
