The cutting machine includes at least two adjustable devices set at a distance from each other in the cutter bar (9) to support the cutter (10). Each device (20) is supported on the spine (28) of the cutter by a pressure member (29) which is hard at least in the contact area with the relevant adjustable device. The adjustable device (20) can have a cam disc (22) or set screw. The cam disc is connected to a support shaft (24) mounted in the cutter (10) at right angles to the disc. The cam disc can have a spirally extending circumferential surface section (23) to contact the pressure member.
