PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical reception circuit having high sensitivity and a broad dynamic range. SOLUTION: In this optical reception circuit that generates a voltage signal having a prescribed amplitude from a current signal generated through the reception of an optical signal and gives the voltage signal to an identification circuits, an amplifier AWL with a limit function that a voltage signal received from a preamplifier PRE is linearly amplified and outputted when the amplitude of the voltage signal is smaller tan a prescribed value, and a specific voltage signal (amplifying and limiting) is outputted independently of the voltage signal when the amplitude of the voltage signal is larger than the prescribed value is arranged in a next stage of the preamplifier that converts the current signal into a voltage signal, and an AGC amplifier that amplifies the voltage signal into a voltage signal with a prescribed amplitude is arranged in a next stage of the amplifier AWL with the limit function.
