Date Mar. 21, 1996In a circuit arrangement for direct current control of a picture display tube having a non-linear voltage/current characteristic by a precorrected picture signal, the picture signal is applied to a non-linear compensation circuit (3) which cancels the precorrection of the picture signal and controls a controlled current source (8) at the output end, whose output is coupled to the cathode (10) of the picture display tube (1), and a differentiator (13) is provided which differentiates the picture signal and controls a voltage-controlled compensation current source (12) which is coupled to the cathode (10) of the picture display tube (1) for a picture signal-dependent reversal of the charge of the parasitic input capacitance (11) of this picture display tube.
