PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact of a diaphragm with an electrode plate by setting a water feed passage to the specified number of electrolytic compartments so that the water supply pressure to the compartments contg. the frame of the diaphragm is lowered. SOLUTION: The diaphragms 5 and 7 are mounted so that the crosspieces 20 of the frames 16 are abutted on an anode plate 6. A groove 21 for supplying water to two couples of electrolytic compartments facing the anode plate 6 from a water passage holes 19 is formed on both ends of the frames 16 approaching the water supply port 13 and the generated water discharge ports 14 and 15. Further, a groove 22 is formed to send the electrolytic acidic water to the discharge port 14. The diameter, number of holes, etc., of the water passage holes are set so that the feed water pressure to the electrolytic compartment is made lower than the feed water pressure from the water passage grooves 11 to the electrolytic compartment. Consequently, the diaphragm 18 is slightly curved toward the electrolytic compartment by the differential pressure to prevent its contact with the cathode plate 9. Meanwhile, contact of the diaphragm 18 with the anode plate 6 is also prevented by the crosspieces 20 of the frame 16. |
