摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deodorize an exhaust gas containing a slight amount of aldehydes from a lean burn gas engine or gas turbine in a high temperature range by oxidizing and removing the aldehydes in the exhaust gas by depositing a prescribed amount of platinum on alumina. SOLUTION: This oxidation catalyst is employed for an exhaust gas containing a slight amount of aldehydes about not lower than 250 deg.C and lower than 650 deg.C and emitted out of a lean burn gas engine or gas turbine. The catalyst is produced by depositing platinum on alumina and the deposition amount of platinum to the weight of alumina is controlled to be within a range from 0.05 to 3.0 wt.% to the weight of the zeolite. The formaldehyde removal ratio reaches about 99% even from the beginning of the experiment start and performance as high as such a level is maintained thereafter and the performance is the same after 4000 hours. The acetaldehyde removal ratio reaches about 98% at the beginning of the experiment start and thereafter the removal ratio is kept about at 97% and no change is observed even after 4000 hours.
