PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bathing agent mild to the skin, excellent in biodegradability of drain, good at environmental hygiene without adding inorganic salts such as sodium sulfate contained in a hot spring, an enzyme, an emulsifying agent, etc., by including a specific extracellular homopolysaccharide, etc. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by formulating (A) an extracellular homopolysaccharide produced from a bacterium and (B) an amino acid (e.g. glycine) and optionally a perfume, colorant, crude medicine, an oil agent, inorganic salt, etc. An extracellular homopolysaccharide composed ofβ-D-glucose as a constituent saccharide is preferable as the component A.β-1,3-1,6 Glucan produced by a bacterium belonging to the genus Aureobasidium sp. is preferable as theβ-D-glucose. The amount of theβ-Dglucose in the bathing agent is preferably 0. 001-10 wt.% and that of the component B added is preferably 0.001-1 wt. %. The bathing agent in an amount of 20-60 mL is preferably added to about 200 liters of water in a bath.
