PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the effect on a synchronizing reference signal by a multi- path with respect to the receiver for a digital audio broadcast employing an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM). SOLUTION: A synchronizing TFPR signal included in each frame is transmitted. An AFC circuit 36 receives the synchronizing TFPR signal to obtain a frequency error and a timing error thereby controlling a frequency and a timing accordingly. In order to eliminate the effect of a multi-path onto the synchronizing TFPR signal, an equalizer 37 is provided. The equalizer 37 eliminates the effect of the multi-path on the synchronizing TFPR signal and a frequency and a timing of a receiver side carrier are correctly controlled.
