PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high strength composite member having a dense and uniform structure without using a superhigh pressure vessel by integratedly subjecting diamond particles coated with at least one kind of metal among eight elements such as Ir or the like, hard phases of at least one kind among four kinds of compounds such as WC or the like and bonding phase metal composed of iron family metal to SHS/HIP sintering. SOLUTION: Diamond particles are externally coated with at least one kind of metal among Ir, Os, Pt, Re, Rh, Cr, Mo and W as an external layer to prevent deterioration in diamond at the time of sintering. As for the member to be compounded with the diamond particles, at least one kind among WC, TiC, TiN and TiCN is used as hard phases, and iron family metal such as Co, Ni, Cr, Fe or the like is used as bonding phases. As for SHS/HIP sintering, since heating, pressurizing and cooling can rapidly be executed, e.g. by bringing metal silicon powder into a chain reaction with nitrogen in a pressurizing nitrogen atmosphere, sintering can be executed in a short time. Thus, the reduction of the production cost can be attained. |
