FINISHING AGENT FOR POLYVINYL ALCOHOL-BASED FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart an easily water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber with excellent antistaticity, collectability and safety without deteriorating the performance of the fiber and provide a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber having excellent processability for spinning and carding and excellent safety to the skirt of the worker. SOLUTION: This finishing agent is composed mainly of (A) at least one kind of compound selected from an alkylimidazolium betaine compound, a phosphate amine compound of a polyoxyethylene adduct of a higher alcohol and a sulfate amine compound of a polyoxyethylene adduct of a higher alcohol and (B) sorbitan monooleate at an A/B weight ratio of 30/70 to 80/20. The finishing agent is applied to a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber.
