PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce antimicrobial fibers or products thereof having extremely low toxicity, excellent antimicrobial properties and their durability and capable of being suitably used for medical everyday goods, general clothing, beddings and accessories and filter materials and provide its production. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial fibers contain 0.005-10 wt.% ofε-poly-L-lysine or its salt and 0.05-10 wt.% of dispersant comprising a metal salt of a 12-20 C higher fatty acid. The fibers consist of a single component or are conjugate fibers comprising >=2 components containing different concentration ofε-poly-L- lysine or its salt andε-poly-L-lysine or its salt is included as itself or mixed with or included in a material difficultly soluble in water.
