PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sound quality of an FM-detected sound signal by reducing amplitude modulation of an audio intermediate frequency signal caused by a video signal. SOLUTION: The tuner is provided with a frequency converter 5 consisting of a mixer 3 and a local oscillator 4 and with a frequency conversion section 2 having the frequency converter 5. Then the frequency converter 5 of the frequency conversion section 2 frequency-converts a frequency of a television signal of a channel selected among television signals at a UHF or VHF frequency band into an intermediate frequency and a video detector 8 detects the intermediate frequency signal to provide the output of a video signal and an audio intermediate frequency filter 9 receiving the intermediate frequency signal provides the output of the audio intermediate frequency signal. |
