SERVER SYSTEM COMMUNICATING WITH PORTABLE INFORMATION TERMINAL EQUIPMENT AND ITS COMMUNICATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a limited memory by saving selected files in mutually different directories discriminatingly by users and allowing the users to download only saved files when downloading files from a server system. SOLUTION: The user of portable information terminal equipment (PDA) inputs his identification number and selects a file or data to be downloaded through a selection part 201 of a host server 200. A control part 202 inspects the size of the file or data selected through the selection part 201 to judge whether or not the PDA has enough capacity for saving, and puts the file or data read out of a data part 204 in a directory of a file storage part 203. Then when the user downloads the file from the server system through the PDA, only the file for the user which is saved in the file part 203 is downloaded.
