PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of unintentional gear shifting and gear shifting delay in responsiveness for the period of time starting from an ignition switch turned on to normal running for the time being, and secure excellent gear shifting control and operability with no sense of incompatibility by diagnosing the quantity of slippage, and correcting the slippage even if the slippage of a neutral value has taken place between a design value and an atual value because of the dispersion of dimensional allowances for each housing port and each land of a spool, spring constants, the thrust force of each solenoid and the like. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an input pulley pressure detecting means detecting the pressure of hydraulic oil for the piston chamber 4 of an input pulley 2, a flow rate characteristics diagnosis means 27 diagnosing the flow rate characteristics of a speed change control valve 6 based on the result of detection by the input pulley pressure detecting means, and a flow rate characteristics correcting means 28 correcting the flow rate characteristics of a flow rate control valve. Both flow rate characteristics diagnosis and flow rate characteristics correction, are thereby performed by forcibly driving the speed change control valve 6 when hydraulic pressure is generated, and moreover when a belt and the input/output pulleys are in a stopped state. |
