FIELD: treatment of liquid. SUBSTANCE: liquid is treated by soaking through layer of particles of ion-exchange material or filtering layer consisting of particles unbound to one another. Device has body filled with treatment layer of treatment medium particles and is provided with inlet hole for liquid being treated and with outlet hole for treated liquid. It also includes liquefying unit for removal of treatment medium particles from layer being treated. This unit is mounted in base of body and has liquid delivery pipeline filled with outlet hole. Pipeline is installed for delivery of liquid under pressure from external side of treatment layer. Device includes pipeline for removal of liquid and particles of treatment medium from layer. this pipeline is arranged in liquid delivery pipeline. Device is provided with facility for supplying new material on upper part of layer. Given device provides for cleaning of treatment medium in separator at relatively low pressure to avoid crushing of treatment medium particles.
