FIELD: manufacture of sucker-rod pumps for production of oil and oil fluids from wells. SUBSTANCE: method includes application to hollow rod from structural steel of coating layer from nitrided material, for instance, steel, followed by plunger machining to preset size. To ensure high hardness and wear resistance of applied coating, after machining, surface hardening of plunger is effected by nitriding.
