The drinks can (2), made with a tab (6) in its lid which is depressed to leave an opening (7), has a lever (1) connected to the tab's central pivot (8) which is designed to open the tab and also to act as a stopper for the aperture left when the tab is depressed. The lever is made e.g. from moulded plastics in one piece. It has an aperture in its underside and an inner channel which enables it to be fitted onto a slid relative to the central pivot (8). After it has been lifted to depress the tab it is lowered again and rotated through 180 degrees to locate it over the aperture. It is then depressed to block the aperture and is fixed to the rim of the can by a hook.
