The urinal, for use by a female in a flat and supine position, consists of a container (5) with an opening (5a) at one end and a detachable connector (2) which fits into the opening and has an inlet shaped to fit over the user's external genito-urinary apparatus. The inner surface of the connector has a surface shaped to deflect the urine stream downwards, and the main container curved external strut (7) to engage with the connector by means of a tongue and recess. The connector also has a handle (9) for holding the urinal in place when it is in use.
