The cutter includes two bodies (20A,B) symmetrically placed on either side of a guide. The guide receives the optical cable to be cut. The bodies are guided by two columns (50,51) so that they are kept parallel during their movement. A threaded rod (60) is placed between the two columns. A nut (70A) is placed on one of the bodies (20B) to facilitate fast opening/closing of the body. A cutting blade (30) is provided on the body and fixed into a 25 deg. orientated groove (25).
