The channel (1) sides (12, 13) form lips (14, 15) abutting the architrave's rear face. Its base (11) is optionally, pressed locally to form cavities for e.g. lamp gear. Mounting blocks (2), retained by the lips, are factory-wired (6), through grooves (23) in each block, at separations corresponding to those of apertures formed in the architrave, and positively located by bending deformable tabs (21) that effectively jam the blocks in the channel. Each block is socketed (22) to retain the body (3), typically cylindrical, of particular equipment items, holding a lamp socket, switch, power outlet, etc. (4). The body passes through a prepared aperture in the architrave, and is typically closed by a cap or bezel (5), screwed (31) on to the body.
