In a process for filling and emptying a storage tank with aqueous dispersions, in which the tank is emptied through a pipe near the bottom, the outlet of the filling pipe follows the changes in the level of the liquid surface during filling and emptying and is adjusted so that it is at about the same height as the surface of the liquid. Also claimed is equipment for carrying out this process.
