The roof rack is fitted on top of a private car. A locking section (20) is provided for locking of a rear-side section (13c) of the hook (13) on the inner wall face of a hook opening (19). The hook opening is formed as a housing component (18) located between the fixing section of the roof rack (9) and the roof. It is designed to hold the hook securely.
