The invention concerns a grain mill with a grinding gear consisting of a motor-driven rotatable millstone and a fixed millstone with a mill hole. In addition, a recess is provided which forms a part of the mill housing (4); the recess (5) serves to fasten the lower, rotatable millstone and the drive motor. A grinding stock funnel (1) which can be connected to the mill housing holds a support (10) for the upper millstone. According to the invention, the recess (5) is provided with an annular threaded section for adjustably fastening the lower part of the grinding stock funnel (1) which is provided with a complementary thread. In addition, the support (10) for the upper millstone can be displaced axially and guided via a bore-bolt or bore-pin arrangement between a circular flange of the support or flange-like extensions and an edge area of the recess for the lower millstone. Initial tension is set between the support and a seating surface in the feed stock funnel by means of spring elements (16) so that by changing the gap between the millstones by means of relative rotation of the feed stock funnel and recess, the pre-set tension results in freedom of play in the threaded connection and auto-locking of the selected milling gap.
