<p>A speech recognition system (10) provides a user with preprogrammed commands and the ability to train the system to recognize the user's spoken command regardless of language or dialect to corresponding keypress information for executing computer games or other programs without striking keyboard keys. The speech recognition system (10) of the present invention utilizes an internal or external device (50, 60) comprised of a microcontroller (30) and speech recognition chip (35), wherein the device has multiple connections for communicating with a keyboard (20) and a host computer (15). An analog switch (40) connects the microcontroller (30) to send recognized keypress information to the computer (15). The system includes an ISA circuit board (5) or COM port, Parallel port, or USB port interface, a software program, a keyboard patch cable (12A), an adapter plug, and noise-cancelling microphone connected to a host computer.</p> |
