<p>A flat cable having an excellent life characteristic during repetitive bending and stretching and a method of manufacturing such a flat cable with high productivity. Specifically, the flat cable having a plurality of parallelly arranged rectangular conductors embedded in an insulating resin, wherein the insulating resin layer at least in contact with the rectangular conductors is an extruded covering layer made of a thermoplastic resin with a bending modulus of elasticity of 800-2400 MPa; and a method of manufacturing the flat cable comprising the steps of parallelly arranging a plurality of rectangular conductors, feeding them to the cross head of the extruder while at the same time supplying the thermoplastic resin to the cross head to extrude and cover the rectangular conductors with a resin.</p> |
