Level gauge for liquids in vehicle or aircraft tanks

A level measuring device for the liquid in vehicle or aircraft tanks consists of a sensor (10) which emits a signal showing the height of the liquid surface and a current volume sensor (14) which signals the inflow or outflow. To compensate for errors with high-frequency components, such as air turbulence in aircraft, and for low-frequency errors caused by change of position in vehicles, the signal from the level sensor is conducted through a deep pass filter (12) and the signal from the current volume sensor through a high pass filter (18) and both signals are added together prior to display. This ensures that the measurements are accurate although the components needed for the system are comparatively inexpensive.
