The guide roller has side ducts (23)which are located laterally in the area of the rotating mechanism of the roller (20) and its outer peripheral surface. The ducts are open outwards and extend continuously from one side surface to the other side surface of the roller (20). The ducts are separated from each other by single crossbars (24,25) forming a type of grid.
