The plug includes a housing (30) having a connector housing part enclosed by a screening metal sleeve (36) mounted in the plug housing. A contact part protrudes flexibly from the sleeve and is acted upon by an electrically conducting housing of an item of electrical equipment so as to make an electrical connection when the plug housing is directly attached to the equipment. The contact part contains an elastic contact piece (44) which fits into a housing recess (45) formed between the overlapping surfaces of the plug housing and the electrically conducting housing, whereby the elastic piece is elastically deformed.
