<p>A fermenter for fermenting animal manure under aerobic conditions, which fermenter comprises a cylindrical tube, which is rotatable about its longitudinal axis, wherein the cylindrical tube is subdivided over substantially the entire length of the tube into at least two separate compartments, which compartments are made up of a partition which extends over substantially the entire length of the tube.
