There are disclosed peptides with a sequence corresponding to the proteic domain comprised between the second and the third cysteine of chemokines of the CC family, particularly RANTES, MIP-1α and MIP-1β and the derivatives thereof. The peptides of the invention are useful for the treatment of diseases caused by the infection of viruses like HIV-1, other primate lentiretroviruses (HIV-2, SIV) and other viruses which use chemokine receptors to bind the cellular surface and/or to penetrate the target cell, or they can be used for the treatment of allergic or autoimmune diseases, in the pathogenesis of which the chemokines play an important role.
