<p>The invention provides that a laser light used to cure synthetic resin systems, in particular those systems which are used in the lining of pipelines or passageways. The synthetic resin system is of the curable type, such as polyester or epoxy, and has a catalyst protected from causing premature curing of the resin by being contained in particles. Laser light is focussed so as to activate the particles which has the effect of releasing the catalyst so that it can commence doing its work of curing the resin, but there is no wastage of light energy, as is common with known systems in heating up the resin.</p> |
