The mount is made from a light metal extruded section with many inner structural walls (3) and voids (2). The mount has flanges (4,5) at its ends for fastening to the vehicle body. The seat rails (20,21) are attached to and supported a mount at the front ends and similar sectioned stands at the rear or a mount at both ends. The mount or stand can have upward open recesses (14,16) into which the rails are clipped or pushed. Additional support to the mount which behaves as a transverse beam can be provided by a foot (28) from the vehicle floor (29).
