An optoelectric capsule (1) has a recess (2) at one of its short sides. In the recess a ferrule (4) projects, which contains an optical fiber (4'), which is in contact with an optoelement (1') inside the capsule. The ferrule (4) can come in contact with a similar ferrule (6), which is elastically (10) arranged in the house (8) of a connector (5''). An alignment of the ferrules with each other is obtained by means of a slotted, elastic tube (5). The house of the connector has at its front side a flange (9), which can engage in the recess (2) of the capsule when rotating the house (8). A locking action after rotating the flange 90~ in the recess is obtained by the method that the inner surfaces (3) in the recess (2), that retains the flange (9), have a convex shape whereas the rear surface of the flange has a corresponding concave shape. The connector (5'') can in that way be easily attached to the capsule (1) and detached therefrom. Thereby a capsule is obtained having a simple optical connection not using any integrated pigtail, which could cause problems when handling and mounting the capsule (1) on a circuit board.
