The arrangement has a pedal hub (3) which can rotate with the pedal about an axle (6) fixed in a carrying structure. The switch (10) is actuated by the parts of the pedal and carrying structure which move wrt. Each other so as to open or close its electrical contacts. The switch responds to length changes with a pressure axis (16) arranged between the pedal hub and a counter bearing concentric wrt. The pedal axis and pivotable between two end stops. In one end position the pressure axis is inclined wrt. The pedal actuation direction. In the other end position it is aligned with the actuation direction. One end of the press switch has a frictional body in contact with the cylindrical surface (7) of the counter bearing or pedal hub.
