Commercial vehicle air spring

A commercial vehicle air spring consists of two parts which move relative to each other joined by bellows (5) holding compressed air. The upper part supports the spring part of the vehicle structure, while the lower part is secured to the vehicle axle by a piston (6) which moves up and down within the bellows. The piston crown (6a) is joined to the bellows (5), whose inner sides roll up and down the face of the piston. That part of the bellows (5) resting on the piston crown (6a) is held under a spring (14) whose outer rim extends beyond the diameter of the crown.
