<p>A drum comprises a bottom wall, a side wall 12 and a top wall 10 joined at its periphery to the side wall 12 leaving an upstanding rim 41 around the periphery of the top wall 10, the top wall 10 being configured to have a liquid-displacing reinforcing ring 22 projecting upwards by at least half the height of the rim 41 to displace liquid from the region enclosed by the rim 41, eg to reduce the collection of rain water on the top wall 10 and resulting corrosion. A lid 14 preferably closes an opening in the top wall 10. The ring 22 preferably has a radial width of at least 20% of the radius of the top wall 10 and may be of Dart-circular, rectanqular or trapezium-shaped cross section.</p> |
