Vibration damper for vehicle brakes

A vibration damper system restores the performance of piezoelectric elements (7,8) that have to be overheated due to temperature buildup resulting from repeated braking operations and so have deteriorated in performance by applying a high voltage to them at a predetermined time. Such a vibration damper system includes a vibration detector (7) for detecting vibration by pads (3) and a disk rotor (4) and is adapted to transmit a vibration damping signal to a vibrator (8) through a control circuit (10) to suppress the vibration. When a performance deterioration restoration timing signal is input from the ignition switch (14) or other inputs (15,16) the control circuit (10) produces a performance restoration command signal to changeover switches (12), thus applying high voltage from a high voltage source (11) for a predetermined time (about one second) to restore deteriorated properties to the piezoelectric elements (7,8).
