The coupling, with pipe end flanges 3,4 on a fixed pipe 1 and movable pipe 2 respectively, clamped by means of a clamp 17, involves the use of a second clamp 8, tightened around the fixed pipe 1 and carrying a cradle 9 for supporting the clamp 17. This enables placing of the coupling parts in succession and release afterwards by remote means. The cradle 9 also prevents the clamp 17 from tilting, then its clamping screw 22 is turned, by support bars 15 and end stops 18. An insert sleeve 27 maintains the position of the pipes 1, 2 whilst also centring a sealing joint 32. |
