PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring an acylcarnitine, enabling to stably measure the acylcarnitine by using an acylcarnitine esterase. SOLUTION: This method for measuring an acylcarnitine comprises treating a test solution with an acylcarnitine esterase having a substrate specificity at least to a lower acyl-L-carnitine selected from the group consisting of acetyl- L-carnitine and propyl-L-carnitine and catalyzing a reaction for producing 1 mole of a lower fatty acid and 1 mole of L-carnitine from 1 mole of a lower acyl-L-carnitine and 1 mole of water molecule and subsequently determining the produced fatty acid and/or the L-carnitine. |
