Purification of substantially anhydrous organic liquids

The substantially anhydrous organic liquid to be purified is placed in contact with one or more cation exchange resins, the resin or at least one of the resins being a resin of sulphonic type in -SO 3 H or -SO 3 NH4 form based on a polystyrene-divinylbenzene copolymer having a divinylbenzene content of from 50 to 60% by weight. The content of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and/or other metal cations may be thus reduced.
