Phosphorescent material for digital printing

A medium for digital printing comprises a phosphorescent layer having a phosphorescent material and an image receiving layer disposed thereover. The phosphorescent layer (e.g. copper-doped zinc sulfide in a binder) may be supported on a plastics film or paper. The image receiving layer is substantially transparent or translucent and capable of retaining an inkjet or thermal image from a digital printer, and may be provided with a protective layer. The medium may comprise a thin plastics film co-extruded with a resin coating having phosphorescent material dispersed therein, and provided with a receiving layer and a protective coating. A scanner or computer can be used for obtaining a digital record file of an image which is forwarded to a digital printer.
