Suspension device with spring correction unit

The suspension has a spring (1) mounted between the chassis attachment point (3) and the wheel support (2). The spring has a stiffness (K) and a predetermined length under a reference load. A reversible electric linear actuator (5) acts in parallel with the spring to control the movements between the fixed and moving points at the ends of the spring. The electric actuator is controlled in response to the observed variation of the distance between the fixed and moving end of the spring. The actuator is initially displaced in the direction of movement of the spring, then after a period of relaxation, against the movement of the spring.
