PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input pen for a coordinate input device which can transmit vibration with stable transmission characteristics and detect coordinates with good operability and high precision. SOLUTION: The coordinate position of a vibration input point is calculated from the delay time up to the arrival of vibration of a vibrator 4 inputted onto a vibration transmission plate with a pen tip 12 at a vibration detecting means. The pen tip is held by a holder 13 and a vibration transmission member 5 which transmits the vibration of the vibrator to the pen tip is energized by a spring 136 toward the pen tip; and the vibration transmission member 5 moves toward the pen tip 12 and is pressed against the pen tip. Consequently, even if the hold position shifts when the pen tip is replaced, the vibration transmission member can be brought into contact with the pen tip with a specific abutting force and the vibration of the vibrator can be transmitted to the pen tip with stable transmission characteristics.
