PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ophthalmic solution which eases too strong chilly touch when eye drops are administrated, possesses the excellent durability on refreshing feeling and can decrease the irritation to eyes by formulating menthols with cyclodextrins and when necessary, adding refrigerants other than menthols. SOLUTION: This ophthalmic solution is prepared by formulating (A) menthols with (B) cyclodextrins, preferably α-cyclodextrin and the like, in an amount of 0.005-1 wt.% based on the whole weight of ophthalmic solution in the total weight of the components A and B and in a molar ratio of 0.1-10 in the compound ratio of the component B to the component A. In addition, more than at least one kind of refrigerant selected from borneols, camphors and eucalyptus oil are preferably formulated with this ophthalmic solution. By this process, the ophthalmic solution which affords more improved refreshing feeling without losing the effect for easing chilly touch and generating the irritation to eyes can be prepared. |
