PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject action-improving agent effective for promoting the action of an oral cavity enzyme to exhibit its effect by including a component selected from a nonionic surfactant, an amino acid-based anionic surfactant, a polyethylene glycol, a polymeric polysaccharide and a sugar alcohol. SOLUTION: The objective action-improving agent to be used in combination with an oral cavity enzyme such as dextranase to improve the action of the enzyme can be produced by including a component selected from (A) a nonionic surfactant (e.g. decaglyceryl monomyristate), (B) an amino acid-based anionic surfactant (e.g. lauroylmethyl-β-alanine sodium), (C) a polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of preferably <=1,000, (D) a polymeric polysaccharide (e.g. pectin) and (E) a sugar alcohol (e.g. glycerol). The action-improving agent is used preferably in an amount of >=0.001 pt.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the above oral cavity enzyme.
