A casement intermediate frame 11 hinged at 14 to the main fixed frame 10, has two sashes 12, 13 hinged respectively to the bottom and top rails of the casement frame 11 and connected together by bars 19 pivoted at the mid-points 31 to the styles of the frame 11, and each bar 19 being pivotally connected at each end to a bush 21 slidable on a rod 23 secured to the styles of the. sashes so that the sashes pivot oppositely. The sashes may be operated by a screw operated mechanical linkage comprising two rods 24, Fig. 4, connected at their inner ends to a block 28 in threaded engagement with an axially fixed manually rotatable screw 30 disposed in a recess in the bottom rail of the frame 11, the rods 24 being pivotally connected to bushes 26 slidable on rods 27 at spaced locations on the bottom rail of the outer sash 13. |
