PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a telephone set to select automatically whether the arrival of an incoming call is to be informed through the vibration of a vibrator or through the ringing of a ringer. SOLUTION: When a portable telephone set 1 is in contact with a body of a user, a vibrator/ringer selection means 5 selects a vibrator 8 based on a discrimination result by a signal processing means 4 that analyzes and processes a signal from a sensor 2 and vibrates the vibrator 8 at the arrival of an incoming call to inform the incoming call automatically. When the portable telephone set 1 is apart from the body of the user, the vibrator/ringer selection means 5 selects a ringer 9 based on the discrimination result of the signal processing means 4 and activates the ringer 9 at the arrival of the incoming call to inform the arrival of the incoming call automatically. |
